Fast7 Netball Rules – 2026 Season

Pre-Match

Captains coin toss or rock/paper/scissors to decide:

• Which end they shoot at first
• Who takes the first centre pass

Game Structure

• 4 x 10-minute quarters
• Positions: Same as standard 7-a-side netball
• Tactical changes: Allowed, following INF netball rules

Centre Pass Rotation:

• Winning team starts Quarters 1 & 3
• Opposing team starts Quarters 2 & 4

Rule Tweaks

All standard netball rules apply except for the following exciting changes:

Shooting Rules

• 1 point: GS or GA shooting from inside the circle
• 2 points: GS, GA, WA, or C shooting from outside the circle

Power Play Quarter

• Each team has one Power Play quarterIn this quarter, all goals score DOUBLE POINTS
• Teams must notify the umpire of their Power Play: BEFORE the game starts

Centre Pass Rule

• After the initial centre pass, the team that DID NOT score the last goal takes the next centre pass

Scoring

• Manual scorecards will be used (Game Day App will not be used)

Player Eligibility

• Players can play up freely
• No need to day register — these are friendly games

Bonus Challenges

2-Point Shot Prize
At the end of the 3 weeks, the team that lands the most 2-point shots will win a spot prize, so get those long-range shots flying!

Grade Challenge
At the end of the three games, the team with the highest cumulative points in each grade will win a chocolate prize for their team.

***UMPIRES***
Umpires to sign in at the office 15mins before their games

Can all umpires please make sure you fill out umpire registrations if you haven't already.

TEAM BENCH SPACE - The team listed first will be assigned to the "town" end of the courts, while the team listed second will be assigned to the "office" end.

BENCH OFFICIALS - A representative from each team are to stand together in the bench area during the game to score and timekeep.  Home team: The first team listed on the app and website, will be positioned at the Motueka Township end of the courts. Away Team: The second team listed on the app and website, will be positioned at the Netball office end of the courts. The Centre Third of the court is the officlals zone. This is where the umpires, timers and scorers will be. It's also the space for nayone who has been asked to leave the court.

PARKING - Parking along the courts fenceline is reserved for MNC Committee members - please keep free!!
