WHAT IS NETBALLSMART?

NetballSmart is a Holistic Injury Prevention Programme that helps improve player performance and keeps our netties in the game for longer.  


The programme is built on six key principles:

  • Dynamic Warm-Up, Cool Down & Recovery: A scientifically-backed, 15-20 minute warm-up designed to prime the body specifically for netball movements (jumping, landing, and changing direction).
  • Smart Movement: Focuses on correct techniques for core movement skills like jumping and landing to minimize strain.
  • Smart Training: Ensures bodies are properly conditioned through strength, endurance, and flexibility training.
  • Smart Preparation: Focuses on preparing the mind and body before stepping onto the court.
  • Smart Player Well-being/Welfare: Takes a holistic approach to a player's health, including nutrition, mental health, and female player health (SmartHealth).
  • Smart Injury Management: Promotes the early identification, assessment, and treatment of injuries
